Our first single bottling of Teroldego hails from Nolan Vineyard nestled in the Alisos Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara County. We're lucky enough to be able to source grapes from this magical vineyard, planted along the famed Syrah corridor. The vineyard is farmed certified sustainable with a unique terroir featuring interesting rocky and mineral rich soil, cold nights, and high integrity farming. The Nolan family grows a wide variety of rare varietals including Mencia and Clairette Blanche, and continues to install new plantings each year. We first sourced Teroldego from this site in 2021 for our Neighborhood Winery ‘Full Moon’ red wine blend. Our winemaker Aaron Walker has coined this special vineyard as the perfect site for any true, devote lover of Santa Barbara County wines!
Hand harvested on their property, the grapes are carefully transported to our winery where they undergo gentle destemming. Fermentation takes place in small open top tanks, allowing for optimal extraction of flavors and aromas. Teroldego originally hails from Northern Italy and is commonly known as the “parent” grape to Lagrein, which we blend with to create ‘Full Moon.’ The wine is aged in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels for 18 months.
