Our 2020 Syrah from Denner Vineyard pays homage to the iconic California Syrahs that have forever shaped the wine landscape. It proudly embraces the spirit of those who dared to rebel against the more reserved and contemplative nature of French wines, forging a path towards a distinctly Californian style that is unapologetically bold, intense, and fruit-forward.

Bursting with luscious, jammy fruit flavors of ripe blackberries, juicy plums, and succulent dark cherries, it showcases the power and opulence of California's terroir. While embracing its fruit-forward nature, the wine maintains balance and elegance, thanks to meticulous craftsmanship and French oak aging. With intense aromatics of black pepper, spices, and hints of smoky oak, along with a full-bodied, velvety texture, this Syrah defies tradition and pushes boundaries.

Made from exclusively old-vine Syrah grown on Denner Vineyard, our block produces less than two tons per acre and gets its fair share of sunshine, resulting in an intense wine. The vineyard sits against the Santa Lucia Range, giving the site’s great diversity of elevation, aspect and soil, with a commitment to using only sustainable inputs
and minimal irrigation.
