Tower 15, 2020 Zinfandel

About The Wine

Our Tower 15, 2020 Zinfandel makes for a big, bold wine with distinct flavors of dark berries and spices that the varietal is notable for. The grapes for this bottling are farmed organically at Old Oak Vineyard in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. The vineyard is named after a spectacular live oak that is estimated to be over 500 years old. All grapes were hand sorted and destemmed before they were cold soaked for five days with intermit-tent punchdowns and pumpovers. During fermentation this wine was punched down up to three times each day until complete. The wine was drained and pressed into a combination of 30% new French and American oak barrels and 70% neutral French oak barrels.

The AVA

The San Miguel District of Paso Robles is the northwestern-most American Viticultural Area of the 11 AVAs of Paso Robles. Its northern boundary is the county line between Monterey and San Luis Obispo.

Winemaker Notes

Dark and brooding without being hedonistic. Blackberries, plums, tobacco, white pepper all show on the nose. The palate brings more dark fruit flavors, black pepper, cherries and cinnamon. Velvety tannins provide a silky finish.
