The old-vines on our block are grown on a steep hillside with drastic changes in elevation which restricts yield and intensifies the quality of the grapes. Star Lane Vineyard’s elevations range from 750 to 1550 feet, offering a diversity of microclimates.
All grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted before fermented in small lots and aged in 50% new French oak barrels and 50% neutral French oak barrels before bottled. The selection process, to choose which barrels to include in this vintage, is long and tedious, and requires expert discernment to arrive at this outstanding wine.
