About The Wine
Our single-vineyard wines feature a highly selective and worthy collection of vineyard-designated wines, bottled individually to showcase the nuanced characteristics of the varietal. This Semillon bottling is made exclusively from Vogelzang Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County, where the morning fog burns off earlier than the rest of the valley providing the much-desired longer day of heat. Their naturally low yielding vines produce an intense and concentrated white wine. All grapes are hand sorted before fermented and aged in 1 year old French oak barrels for 540 days.
The AVA
The Santa Ynez Valley is a long, east-west corridor, with very cool temperatures on the coast that become progressively warmer inland. Consequently, several varietals do well, from Pinot Noir in the west to Cabernet, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc in the east. Rhone varietals such as Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Roussanne, and Viognier also thrive in the Santa Ynez.
Winemaker Notes
Rich and bold but nuanced, like the California sunshine that created this wine. Fresh peaches, chamomile, and lemons with hints of toasted brioche, lemon curd, beeswax and gooseberry notes.
