About The Wine
Our Tower 15, 2019 Carignan has a balanced flavor profile without bitter tannin, and tends to pack a big flavoric punch on the opening palate. The
grapes for this limited-quantity bottling derive from Camp 4 Vineyard, owned by the Chumash Tribe, in the Los Olivos District of the Santa Ynez Valley
where they grow Rhône and select Bordeaux varietals. This wine was barrel-fermented and barrel-aged using only neutral French oak barrels. The
majority of our Carignan was added to our 'Jetty' blend, leaving only a limited amount for this single varietal bottling.
The AVA
The sub-AVA of the Santa Ynez Valley, the Los Olivos District AVA is a broad alluvial terrace between the Purisima Hills above Solvang and the western flank of Happy Canyon. The terrain slopes gently, with a moderate climate marked by warm days with occasional morning fog and cool nights.
Winemaker Notes
Woodsy and savory wild berry and plum aromas are followed by bold red berries and a peppery finish.
