Pali, 2017 Pinot Noir 'Bluffs'

About The Wine

While the Central Coast is our home, our curiosity occasionally leads us to distant lands. Our ‘Bluffs’ is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown on premium vineyards in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. The Russian River Valley AVA is highly acclaimed and internationally known for its wines that display opulent fruitiness, and its cool climate and coastal fog work together to produce distinct flavor profiles with a balanced layer of acidity. This wine is expertly blended to capture the spirit of the region and express the unique flavors associated with Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The grapes are fermented in small lots and then barrel-aged in 80% neutral French oak and 20% new French oak for 240 days.

The AVA

Characterized by its cool climate and coastal fog that travels in from the Pacific along the Russian River, the Russian River Valley's climate allows for a slow ripening of the grapes, resulting in wines of balanced acidity and complexity.

Winemaker Notes

This youthful wine offers strong floral aromas of rose, geranium and lavender. Sizable tannins add to a feeling of full-bodied richness, highlighted in black tea, forest and clove.
