Neighborhood, 2021 Rosé & Orange Wine Blend 'Play Ball!'

About The Wine

Sit back and watch this classic pink on orange match up between Sangiovese rosé and skin-contact orange Pinot Grigio! Two different winemaking styles and techniques play well together in this unconventional blend. This playful wine comprises Sangiovese grown on Deerfield Vineyard on the west-side of Paso Robles, and Pinot Grigio from C5 Vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley. The Sangiovese used for this blend was crushed by foot with deli-cate skin contact to pick up light color before it was pressed into neutral oak barrels where a native fermentation occurred. The Pinot Grigio component was fermented using carbonic maceration to delicately extract color and aromatics for 10 days before it was pressed into stainless steel drums where it finished fermentation. The juice is fermented using only native, natural yeast alive in the air and on the grapes. Nothing is added throughout the wine's elevage, resulting in a wine that is rich and complex with strong primary fruit flavors and acid, and remains unfined and unfiltered. Summer Sessions wines are created with warm weather, friendly hang-outs and beach time in mind. Crack one open under the sun and serve chilled!

The AVA

The California Central Coast includes the coastal land between Ventura County and Monterey County. This region has achieved global renown because of its abundant microclimates and enormous coastal influence.

Winemaker Notes

Hazy, apricot and orange color. Light red fruits play with stone fruits and herbal notes. Quenching acidity keeps this wine light on the palate, with dried fruits and fresh herbs.
